An experimental study on free-surface rolling segregation and correlations with angle of repose and particle sphericity

Bulk solids commonly segregate when particles move on an inclined surface, often causing significant variations in content uniformity of particle properties such as size and species. Often called free surface rolling segregation, this is one the most common segregation phenomena for powders granules, where different sized shaped become separated due to differential movement surface. Intensity widely understood depend upon various factors including differences shape well flow densities. These influences have been studied reported previously, but correlations between levels assessed by sphericity or ratio with consideration angle repose has not investigated detail. This experimental study particulate material (calcium carbonate) ranges; using a single eliminates being studied, especially solid density. The influence bulk systematically, distributions, sphericity. results show increased trend higher ratio. Also, indicate low repose, little than 32 degrees.
